Message from Radha London Isvara Dasa
Mandali will be doing kirtan on Saturday July 15th for the 24hr kirtan event at ISKCON South Norwood
Address: Sri Sri Radha Krishna Cultural Centre, 42 Enmore Road, South Norwood, London, SE25 5NG
Closest train station - Norwood junction.
For this event I have chosen to sing a bhajan - Hari Hari Bifale, by the medieval Vaisnava poet Narottam das.
The songs and poems written by Narottama and other saints of that era are written on two levels.
1. They are the deepest expressions of those Acharya's feelings towards Krsna.
2. And at the same time they were written and handed down to help us re-connect with our true feelings.
As I'm preparing to sing this song I'm trying to study it a little and myself enter deeper and deeper into its meaning.
I'm thinking to try and share here what I'm finding. The idea being that more we all know and understand the song when we sing it, the more as a group we will be able dive deeply into the meditation, into the kirtan, and the more profoundly it will help us on our journey of self discovery.
So please, study the song yourself or if you like read what I share here, so that when we all meet in kirtan on the 15th, we can gain the maximum benefit of this meditation.
Please come and join us!
